Thomas grew up in Wilmington, NC where his passions were surfing and later theater. After two years studying Theater Arts at UNC Wilmington he moved to NYC to study at Uta Hagen's esteemed acting conservatory HB Studios. While tirelessly learning his craft, he also began writing and directing short films, theater productions and music videos for various NYC artists. Upon completing the conservatory program Thomas threw himself into the professional world of both acting and directing. After landing numerous parts in independent films and theater shows, as well as racking up dozens of directing gigs, in NYC he moved to Los Angeles where he picked up right where he left off.
Dubbed by the LA Weekly as "The Punk Theater Impresario" for his groundbreaking work in the Los Angeles theater scene. Under the umbrella of his company On The Fly Entertainment, Thomas was the LA, SF, Vegas, and San Diego producer and director of the smash hit theatrical experience and LA's longest running comedy show "Point Break Live!" which saw critical acclaim and sold out audiences for nearly ten years. PBL! has been featured on Nightline, NBC, TBS, E!, FUEL TV, and G4-TV just to name a few. For his work on PBL Mr. Blake was a recipient of "LA's People of the Year" in the LA Weekly's People Issue in 2009.
Mr. Blake also created/directed/produced the hit interactive show Terminator Too Judgment Play which after a successful and critically-acclaimed world premiere in NYC, opened in LA at the world-famous Viper Room in 2012. Both T-Too and PBL became the first theater shows to ever play a major music festival when they were on the line-up at Bonnaroo in 2014.
Thomas' newest live show Tom Gun LIVE started in March of 2017 in Los Angeles. It too has garnered great success and continues to run in LA and now plays in San Francisco and San Diego as well.
His web series "The Worst Generation", which he co-created and directed can be seen on the world famous comedy site MyDamnChannel.com. Thomas strives to make new and exciting forms of theater, staged in atypical venues, where people can get drunk and party… that way they are more likely to enjoy his work.
Since 2007 Blake has been continually landing parts in films and TV shows, while directing and producing long running theatrical productions. He continues to try and learn all he can about the art that has given him so much since he was ten years old. Often people ask Thomas, "What do you really want to be an actor or a director?" To which he replies, "I think there is so much to continually learn in each that as long as either keeps me hungry for more understanding of this art, then I truly can say that I really want, and intent to be succussful at both"
